Ex-Gov Sylva surrenders to the EFCC, charged to court (with photos)

The anti-corruption agencies seem to be revving up the fight against corruption, especially the part that involves charging people to court. Just 24 hours after former Inspector-General of Police was charged to court by the ICPC, the former Bayelsa State Governor has been charged as well –this time by the EFCC.
Gov Sylva, who had not been seen in public since the Bayelsa State February 2012 gubernatorial election, voluntarily turned himself in to the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) and was charged on six counts of fraud at the Federal High Court Abuja.
The court ordered that he be remanded in custody until the bail application is heard on Thursday.
