Segun Agbaje (GtBank) Is "African Banker Of The Year 2012

Managing Director/CEO of Guaranty Trust Bank plc, Mr. Segun Agbaje has been conferred with the 2012 African Banker of the Year Award by the African Banker Magazine.

Commenting at the 2012 African Banker Awards Dinner, which held on Wednesday, May 30, 2012 in Arusha, Tanzania, Mr. Segun Agbaje attributed his receipt of the award and the Bank’s varied achievements over the years to discipline, a defined operating strategy, hands on knowledge about the various markets the Bank operates in and the passion of GTBank employees, who constantly strive to give 100% above customer expectations every single time.

Desperate Housewife Star, Kathryn Joosten dies @72

Kathryn Joosten, a character actress best known as the crotchety, yet loveable, Karen McCluskey on “Desperate Housewives” and the president’s secretary on “The West Wing,” has died. She was 72.

Joosten, who had battled lung cancer for 11 years, died Saturday at her home in Los Angeles, her publicist Nadine Jolson said.

Joosten “was surrounded by love and humor ‘til the end,’” her family said in a statement. “We are laughing through our tears.

Dana plane carrying 152 people crashes in Lagos

OMG! A commercial plane belonging to Dana Airlines crashed at the Iju/Ishaga area of Lagos a few minutes ago. The plane was carrying 153 passengers and was coming from Abuja. Eye witnesses said the plane crashed into houses and human beings are burning at the scene of the crash.

Update: NCAA has just confirmed that there were no survivors. Such a sad day for Nigeria!
Also heard that the plane that crashed today was the same plane that had landing gear problem in Uyo a couple of weeks back. It gave signs, but the airline didn't do anything about it. What a shame!
